Hard drive permissions - SMB trouble

Hey all. Didn't know quite where to put this. My external HD is acting a bit weird. I can acess everything from my PC, but I want to share things over the network with SMB, and it's proving hard.

Say, I right click and share the folder to the homegroup, the folder is shared and the files in it, but not the files in the subfolders, etc. I can see the subfolder over SMB but not the files, and when I look at them in 7 they have a little padlock on them. I can share each manually, just not automatically.

It's just this HD that has problems - my other external drive shares everything without problems.

    Any help?

    Ta.

Take ownership of the files then add 'everyone' to the permissions table and give it full control.

No good: I've done the permission thing through the normal way and through the 'Take Ownership' thing, but it doesn't do any good. All the files inside subfolders are locked.

Is there any way to reset the drive, and also Window's permissions? I uninstall the driver, but when it reinstalls it's the same.

Did you tick 'replace on all subcontainers' on the ownership tab, and also untick 'include inheritable attribs from parent' and tick 'apply inheritable permissions to subcontainers' on permissions tab too?

eta; also for network access, the usergroup 'authenicated users' needs full control.
