Weird RAID issues
I just bought 4 Samsung HD103SJ drives and put them in RAID 0. When I run HD Tune, I get this:
Running on Windows 7, booted to the array:
Running on Vista, booted to a secondary drive:
I was expecting speeds of closer to 400-450MB/sec, since others have reported benchmarks of 110+ average read with these drives. This isn't too much better than my previous array of two Maxtor 500GB drives (which got about 110-120MB/sec). That array also had the problem with the massive speed fluctuations. Could this be a problem with my RAID controller (my mobo is an XFX 680i LT SLI), or could one of the drives be bad?
