    What type?
    DDR
    DDR2
    DDR3
    what speed?
    what brand?

Try and be a bit more specific then others can help you better.

For info though I bought 8GB of DDR31066 ram from www.crucial.co.uk for less than £100

    As listed here, prices average about $300. You'll need 2 4GB ddr2 800MHz DIMMs

Moot point if it is the motherboard in your specs,

    http://www.asus.com/product.aspx?P_I...PeP&templete=2

as it only supports up to 4 GB.

    Is that 2x4GB ?
    2 x DIMM, Max. 4 GB, DDR2 1066(O.C.)/800/667 Non-ECC,Un-buffered Memory
because I've seen a review in TechTree that says 8GB supported for that MB
Techtree.com India > Reviews > Basics > Motherboards > Asus P5KPL-AM/PS has Anti Power Surge Technology
Its on the top in the Pros

EDIT: The TechTree review is probably wrong. The MB supports a max of 4GB DDR2 only.

PS: That link to ASUS site works only in IE for me

gladson1976, I would say that Techtree review is wrong as according to Intel the G31 chipset only supports 4 GB,
