    new hdd on laptop


    I was wondering if its possible to change my harddisk on my laptop.
    it only has 250gb and i need more. so is it possible for me to like buy one with 500 gb and put it in?

    Most likely the answer is yes. What is the make/model of your laptop? You will need to know if your laptop uses a PATA or SATA drive.

    Also if your computer came with Windows 7 (OEM) then you will not be able to use the recovery partition do you have an Installation disk

    here are the specs for my laptop
    HP Pavilion dv6700 more accurate model (dv6809eo)
    disc: TOSHIBA Mk2546GSX ATA Devise
    250gb
    2,5 sata II
    5400 RPM - 8 MB - 12 msec

    its just that im not sure what to buy. the hdd must work with the laptop. with the specs. how can i know that what i buy will work with my laptop??

    A 500gb SATA-II should be an equal replacement for a 250gb SATA-II HD
