I did get like 12 updates last night, nothing changed.
Do you have a restore point that is before the updates? I always create a restore point before i download anything or install the updates just in case. I realize this may not help you now but I think it's a good practice to get into.
Have you tried re-installing your printer drivers? Or start from scratch and use add printer wizard? Fabe

The only updates I have received in the last couple of days is the new SP and my printer works just fine. Just a thought you might of lost the driver.

    Further Info

All I have further data to add to this issue:
    • Updates did not blow out the printer
    • Rebooted and removed the printer physically
    • Went to HP and downloaded the 64 bit HP Laserjet 1020 driver
    • With the printer removed, installed the driver as admin
    • Rebooted my system
    • Physically attached the printer via usb
    • Observed usb driver sucessfully install
    • Printer installed sucessfully!
    • Using Windows Live Email, opened and email with a pdf doc attached.
    • pdf file opened sucessfully!
    • Attempted to print doc and this is where the printer gets knocked out.
    • Dialog box opens in printer dialog box telling me I must start printer spooler service.
    • Use Computer management and services and refresh/start spooler servive and voila, printer appears in devices as connected and prints sucessfully.
    • Conclusion, pdf file knocks out printer spooler.
I have never observed this before.

    Hi Adrian

This is a long shot but you might try outing the printer and software and just reinstall the printer and software. Just a thought:)
