Wouldn't that be kinda hard for him to explain when the laptop is on/open? "Uh, it's there so I can leave my computer on without you noticing". *wince*

Hatashi, if your mom really dislikes the idea of your computer being left on overnight, you can just download it in chunks. Although 25GB is pretty painful... I personally would never use online backup for something that ginormous, but to each his own...

My bad, i just thought that the lights were making her mad...not the fact that it was the computer being left on.

You might be right! The OP would have to clarify, but if your interpretation was right then your suggestion was good!

Semi- solution but still something giving away that the laptop is still on,

I can turn off the lights of the screen and close my lid, but the lights are visible.

now without lifting the lid or possibly hearing the fan, mom won't know it is still on.

Hide the cord and slide it under your bed. Ok I know but it's an answer. Fabe

    I find, kinda a solution.

I have got this black screen cleaning tissue, that came when I bought my PSP, I fold it in half so its not so big, and put it over the lights, I close the lid, and its hardly noticeable if there is anything.

And guys, I uploaded all that 25GB of stuff when my connection was one of the best that is available in the Netherlands, and trust me, Netherlands is also popular for their Internet providers, so it was not very hard, but never did I expect for us to move and get a more decent connection, not like we are poor or something, we could afford that same connection again, but I think she did not see any need for it.
