hp 3847 not recognized in w7

I'm having problems keeping my hp3847, hp1350 all-in-one, and h470 printers working in W7, sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. W7 says latest drivers came installed with the desktop. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, downloaded suppposedly current drivers from HP many times, with no luck. Does anyone have a solution?

Go to hp.com and get latest driver's for your 3 printer's.
    Fix one at a time.

Are they networked or connected locally? What drivers are you using? What networking protocol (homegroup, or workgroup)?

    Thanks

Connected locally. I'm using the latest drivers as downloaded from HP's site. I'm don't know what homegrown or workgroups are.

    HomeGroup vs Workgroup

Read through this thread on the differences.

I can say I've never heard of workgroup or homegroup. After reeading the thread I still don't know. I guess since I've never been asked or needed to set up either, I have what came as default with the computer's os.
