Windows 7: external monitor won't work

I tried connecting another DVI monitor, less than a year old Samsung LCD, and it worked fine. So I don't think HDMI port is faulty in any way. What I think is that graphic card emits some newer standard of HDMI signal and my monitor is not capable of handling it. or there is some plug&play problem maybe, since the computer does not recognize it at all.

I spoke to Asus support and all they were able to tell me was to perform BIOS flah. Haven't tried that yet. I'll let you know later.

That sounds logical, however when I connected new Samsung monitor via the same HDMI-DVI cable, it worked perfectly. uh, this drives me crazy...

woohoo! finally I can enjoy digital image via HDMI on my monitor. and all that was necessary was to flash BIOS :-)
