Auto-Detect issue

It is not consistent, sometimes it happens and then sometimes it doesn't. Is this a problem and what can I do about it? - If you unplug your external usb devices, does it lag?
- update your bios, if possible
- select primary boot as hard drive, and do not have any other boot devices
- disable legacy usb support
