Unknown Device with Card Reader

Specs are :

MCP6P M2+ Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600+

I used to have Windows 7 32bit in pc with everything working as normal..until I upgraded to 64bit
I have a Pluscom card reader installed : 3.5" Slot All-in-one 1 Internal Card Reader SD USB HUB on eBay (end time 02-Sep-10 14:51:30 BST)

Which all I get now is Unknown Device in Device Manager.
Its connected by USB Ports on Motherboard and yes tried swapping them around.
I have 3 (USB1-3) on the mobo...1 is for the card reader and the other for front audio..usb etc...
Also tried tried removing the front panel usb from board ..nothing!

This is what I have tried so far...

Tried AMD AwayMode for download...didnt work!
Uninstalled from Device Manager and reboot machine...didnt work!
Disabled and Enabled on restart...didnt work!
Tried the hotfix from Microsoft..system says its already installed!
Tried the Ricoh drivers for there card readers....didnt work!

How come it doesnt see it as it was working ok with the 32Bit

May take installing the Nvidia chipset driver,

NVIDIA DRIVERS 15.49 WHQL

to get it to be detected. Don't need to install the Physx driver or the Network Management Tools (the Away Mode driver isn't needed either), and the RAIDTOOL isn't needed unless running RAID (and even them it isn't really needed).

Looks to me that there is no device driver for 64bit Windows 7 - one of the inconveniences of 64bit. You can run the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor to check that: Free Download PC Upgrade Advisor Windows 7 Hardware Programs Issues

It could be that it just won't work with 64bit

The only reason I could think of was a missing driver. It did work with 32bit on the same system.

Have you tried forcing the Windows to accept the Driver in the properties window for the device?
i know its a bad move sometimes but i had to do it a couple times and my computer has had no trouble using Firewire or Card reader since...

Another way is lookin to see if there is a driver for Vista x64 for your card reader, since vista and Win 7 run from the same engines all the vista drivers work.

Let us know if either of these ways work for you...

As the card reader didnt come with a driver and tried to get a hold of one is like gold dust, until... I found this ...
The only driver I could find for the device : AU6370 PLUSCOM
Installed as it states and then I get a Code 10

Got the AU6370 from the chip when I opened the card reader up.
File also includes Low Level Format (whatever that does)???

...so basically still nothing, how do you mean force the driver?
