You have a document in queue thats holding up your printing. Clear that out if you know how.
Make sure you have no paper jams and its feeding paper correctly.
Are you connected with a usb cable with your printer?

The quee was empty
thats what happened when i tried to print a page.
its connected to my modem

In your post #13 it shows a printing error and 1 item in your queue.
The printer is connected to the modem???

it worked until i gopt a new modem yesterday

Most printers are connected to the back of the desktop cpu.
I have never heard of a printer connected to the modem before.
The modem is how you connect to the outside world.

If you have a wireless hook up you need to go to control panel/devices and printers/then sharing and set see attached snip
