I'm having some troubles with a newly bought sony vaio f series and my external monitor. I tried connecting it trough the vga first but the image quality on my monitor wasn't very clear.
My laptop's native resolution is 1920x1080 and my monitor is a Samsung T260hd 26" with a native resolution of 1920x1200. Also if the laptop is already running and i plug in the vga cable the monitor doesn't detect it at all. I have to restart the laptop in order for the monitor to recognize the signal. Even then the image quality is poor and text is blurry. My old laptop which is a Dell however gives me a crystal clear image on the monitor, and the monitor recognizes it right away when i connect it with vga.
So I'm using the HDMI output right now, but whenever i turn off the laptop or start it the monitor won't recognize it like it was when i used vga. I have to manually turn on and off the monitor everytime. I'd like to ask if there is some setting that makes it auto turn on/off when i turn on/off the laptop like it is when it's connected via vga.
