Does this motherboard supports quad core i7 PCU? or is there any better PCU than i7?

To amplify what another poster wrote, Intel P35 systems use Socket 775.

Core I7 CPUs are Socket 1156 or Socket 1366. All three are LGA (Land Grid Array) designs, but they are completely physically incompatible with each other.

The best desktop CPU in existence at the moment is the (6 core) Core I7 980X. (Socket 1366.) It's also the most expensive, around $1000US. At lower prices, there are arguments about whether AMD or Intel CPUs offer the best price/performance.

Yep, if you're looking for longevity from your LGA 775 board, then a Core 2 Quad would be your best bet as the i7 is available in either LGA 1156 or LGA 1366 and you'd need a new motherboard to work with that along with new RAM as they only work with DDR3.

Ouch this all sounds expensive well best of i7 i will never be able to afford there is some i7 PCU around 300$ in my country at 2.Mybe any suggestions about good and not expensive motherboard witch would support i7 PCU SLI video cards and ddr3 ram 1600mhz?

Actualy im a bit confued what to do now.
get the i7 920 26.66 Ghz or q9650
as i understand s775 is old .
It would be better to get better motherboard and only then think what to put in it?
If i get now q9650 CPU latter i wont be able 2 to find motherboard with s755 witch would support ddr3 1600mhz ram and sli video cards

The Q9650 and the I7-930 (newer than the 920) cost about the same. If you can afford the new mainboard and DDR3, it would be a better upgrade.
