problem with graphic card on standby
Hi guys
I have one very strange problem.
I’m a happy owner of a I7 920 with 12Gb ram, on Asus rampage 2 extreme with a graphic card Sapphire GeForce 9600Gt with 2Gb ram., nothing is overclocked
This graphic card is a power friendly (green), on a box it says it uses 40% less power than a “normal” graphic card. This one does not have a power plug and therefore gets power only through pci-express slot.
Now downside of this card is that it when you start a computer graphic card is making extremely noise because the fan on graphic card is running at max speed, until it loads windows. Once it get in windows and loads graphic card drivers it runs silently.
Now, I have a problem when I’m putting computer on standby (I love having my pc ready within few seconds). Everything starts preparing for standby, but sometimes (1 out of 4) times everything goes to sleep except for my graphic card, which starts making that noise again, and I wont stop at any point. I even waited for a half an hour, but the fan on graphic card was still running with max speed.
I have tried to reinstall/install/uninstall drivers for graphic card, and I updated drivers for chipset for my mother board but without solving my problem.
Luckily I know this place and im hopping that someone can help me solving this problem.
Kind regards
Mik
