    Ram issues need advice please

A few months ago i was getting blue screens of death and my computer would randomly freeze. I found out it was the ram i was using so i bought two sticks of ddr3 1066(old ram was ddr3 1333 two sticks) and the problem was fixed.

But today i realized that i have been running my ram as single channel this whole time. I changed it to dual channel.

Was that the reason my other ram was causing system stability issues you think? Running the ram as single channel? Probably a stupid question but i need to ask all the same

Ram is finicky (especially in 64 bit). Even if you bought the 2 sticks at the same time but in different packages they may not have been matched. Un-matched ram can do funny things.

It may have been that you needed to bump the ram voltage, or under volt it. Or run it as dual channel or not. the only way to tell is to put it back in and keep fiddling with it till it works

    Good Luck
