    What laptop should I get?

My father wants me to set him up with a cheap laptop. He never owned or really even used a computer before. Believe me when I tell you, all he will be doing is using it for e-mail, light web browsing and most likely nothing else.

Any really cheap ones to recommend here? I'd like it to be able to run 7, though. I don't think that would be a problem for any recommendations given.

    Thanks a lot.

Hi wait a while, and then buy a cheap laptop with windows 7 already installed on it and you will have a $300 OP on it, as well as a new laptop

If his eyes (or his eyes with corrective lens) are pretty good, maybe a netbook would do. I've been seeing refurbished 10" netbooks for $300 like this:

    Acer AOD150-1165 Blue Netbook, Intel Atom N270 1.60GHz, 1GB, 160GB, 10.1'' WSVGA,WebCAM,6-cell,Windows XP Home, Factory Refurbished - L-LU.S620B.011-R - Buy.com

    Bye.

Ah, ok thank you. I will check that out but no, he has very poor vision. He uses cell phones and apps with no problems so that may be alright.
