    Ram: Critical issues!

I just noticed that my win7 Gadget that displays my cores and threads and also my RAM is saying that I only have 4GB. CPUZ shows that I have 6GB triple channel which is what is installed. Any idea why the gadget is showing something different?

This may seem to be a silly question, but are you sure you are running windows 7 home premium x64, not x32?

When in doubt, I would not trust the gadget. Probably one of those 32bit programs that cannot count beyond 4. Check what it say in your Computer Properties and in the Resource Monitor - that's what counts.

    Yes I am sure I have win7 64bit.

WHS, I just looked at MY PC Properties and it said I have 6GB (4GB usable) what the heck? I recently rewired my PC so maybe thats the issue, but I don't know where to look for the RAM.

Phew, I figured it out. It was my wired, one of mower cable that is powering the Mobo wasn't completely installed. Thank goodness it was an easy fix. Thanks for the help.

Now you might want to run Memtest86+ to make sure the RAM wasn't damaged by being improperly powered up. Better safe than sorry.
