I want to import only a few of my 169 pictures to my Windows 7 computer but i am not finding a way to to make a selection. In there, after connecting the camera with the usb cable to the computer, up comes the box with the option "import pictures and videos" but nothing to review, only import, and it will import the whole 169. Could you help please?

That's what I get with my digital camera as well and is normal using that method.
A alternative would be to take the memory card out of the camera, and plug it into a media card reader (if installed) on the computer. You will then be able to view the files on it just like you would with a USB flash drive.

Thank You. No, i haven`t got the media card reader. I read that newest pictures are detected and doesn`t duplicate., but that didn`t work for me. Also the following is in a post on Windows 7 under "Import Pictures Wizard" interesting>

I've discovered how to do this. Here's a copy of what I posted on another thread:
Code:I've had exactly the same problem as you. There's nothing wrong with your setup. Don't use Autoplay. Instead, as 7Dreams says, launch Windows Live Photo Gallery. Then, and only then, connect your camera/USB drive. Choose File> Import from a camera or scanner Select the required device when a list is displayed (e.g. Removable Disk (H:)) Click on Import Choose Review, organize, and group items to import Click on More Options ... For Import To: click on Browse ... and select (or create) the required folder you want to copy the photos to For folder Name: select Name For File name: select Name Click OK In the Import Photos and Videos window, click on Next Move the Adjust groups slider to divide your photos into separate sessions for each day's filming by reducing the amount of time allotted to each group (I chose 1 hour so I could split up photos filmed at three separate locations in a particular day) Untick Select all (very important!!!) Tick the group of photos you want to import Click on Enter a name, and type the name you want to apply to all the photos, e.g. Central Park Click on View all X items to see thumbnails of all the photos in the chosen group, and untick any that you don't want to import Make sure again that you've only got the required group ticked Click on Import The photos will then be imported to your chosen folder and will be numbered sequentially, e.g. Central Park 001, Central Park 002, etc. Just like XP !!! Trust me - it gets easier with practice!
I`ll have a look at that and see how it goes. I find Windows 7 complicated, they tried to go fancy. Windows XP any day for me.
That's great news. Sometimes the camera may have software that you can install on your computer that may allow this as well if the software supports Windows 7.
Hi Folks, I used the description above - somewhat cumbersome, but does seem to work the way I want it to - so firstly, THANK YOU for that.. Also - though - I see the note that says "I downloaded Windows Live Essentials... and there's a provision there to get pictures from a scanner or camera, similar to Windows XP.." - is that true - as in, is that different than the steps above, and more like the old way? I'm not even sure if I have Windows Live Essentials.. Is that something I can install "part" of, or do I need it all? I feel like I had it and it seemed bloated maybe, and I got rid of it - but I will check.. In any event, thank you ALL for your help.. Cumbersome, but works - I don't know who to give credit to - I guess to Jameson for finding that other post - as well as whatever the options are from Windows Live Essentials. If you get this and can let me know about that, I would appreciate it.. Otherwise, I will investigate anyway.. Thanks again. - Maggie
