    What is your budget?
Canon and Epson are the best at present.

It's a gift for my mom so she can print photos of her grandson which means it needs to be simple to use. My budget is $200 or less.

Can I get her something good for that amount?

It must print both documents and photos

I would normally agree with Brian, with Epson & Canon as the best value for money when printing costs are taken into account as well as the initial cost.

Recently however several independent reviews and tests have come out strongly in favour of the Kodak ink-jet range, so may be worth having a look at their range

    Kodak - Print and Prosper

I have read them and actually forgot about them.
Would agree that you should look at Kodak as well

I agree with BarMan with the Kodak Printer and the ease to make decent photo's.
Check it out and check the cost of ink for each.
Tell Mom to have fun making great photo's!
