    USB Sleep button gadget

    Hey everyone

I have this USB Sleep button gadget (press the green button and PC goes to sleep mode) that does not work with Win7.
Here is a link to a similar product EcoButton (Computer Standby Button)
Same idea, different picture on the button.
On the packaging it does say that its compatible with XP, Vista and Mac.
I was assuming that since it was Vista capable that Win7 would not be a problem, but I get the "Device may not work properly" message.

Any ideas? Help is really appreciated.

    Thanks

Thumbs Up to richc46 for this suggestion...

I would have thought it would work though, have you looked to see if there are any Win7 updates for your Button?

    thanks richc46 for that suggestion.
I would still like the button to work however, if possible. I like the soft slow it emits, and the fact that is works as a shortcut to sleep mode is a bonus of sorts.

JDobbsy1987: I did check windows updates and it did not find anything for this gadget

Any suggestions finding a driver that would fix this?

I am not too worried about it, I got it for $1, I just wanted to see if I could make it work.

On a side note, I do dual-boot XP with my Win7, and it did work perfectly on XP

Silly me, a simple restart fixed the problem.

Odd however that in device manager, it did not recognized it before, and now it does.
    Problem solved :)

    Thanks JDobbsy and Richc

Your very welcome, I know that you are not going to use the shortcut. Put the information in safe keeping, one day you may be interested.
Glad that it all worked out.
