westinghouse lcd monitor

I just got a westhouse used 22" lcm 22w3 monitor. when i do get it on it's great. but everytime i boot my pc it doesn't seem to come on 90% of the time. i have to unplug it and take out the vga cable and even boot the pc before i finally get it to respond. It's weird i'll get the green light when it comes on then goes orange. then the orange one will just split the light in half and then the monitor doesn't respond at all even trying to turn it off and on. ok this is what i have notice though in device manager it shows it as a generic pnp monitor, but in nvidia panel it will show up as the name, but sometimes when i boot it doesn't show up until i detect it. it's like the monitor isn't detecting right on the system boot up. i usually turn my pc off at nights.. but i tried leaving it on, let it go to sleep mode and when i come back the monitor won't respond and go into the state where it won't do anything. I notice it had a 59htz refresh so i forced a custom refresh rate of 60. anyone else have this problem with same monitor or other. plus my monitor is not in the list of monitors if i do a manual driver update, the monitor didn't come with a cd. and i don't think it does from searching. since i'm using the vga, if i go to the dvi-d cable connections do you think it'll fix this problem?? because my 9800gtx is a dvi connection and i have to use a vga to dvi dongle.
