This summer I will be buying or building a new computer for the release of Windows 7. I've been partial to AMD processors and was wondering which would be recommended for Windows7. The two I'm debating between are the Phenom X4 or the Athlon X2. I plan on having 4 gb of ram. I've been currently running Windows 7 32 bit but will consider 64 bit. I have a lot of applications but they are all 32 bit. Does it make sense to run a 64 bit OS with all 32 bit applications? Thanks for advice.
I havent had experience with the AMD side of processors, altho for your 32bit programs with 64bit OS, i can tell you that some components of 32bit apps may not work/function properly, if its possible, try and locate yourself the same programs but 64bit versions.

going x32 is getting more pointless everyday, especially if you have capable H/W...
your x32 apps will run just fine on x64, ive yet to encounter a problem (bar Rivatuner)....., & if your hearts set on AMD, i'd go for the x4 phenom.....
