Have you tried their support? magicJack - Tech Chat Knowledgebase/FAQ

It sounds like that killing the process isn't sufficient enough to signal to 7 that device is 'done', so as far as 7 is concerned it's still 'active', hence the crash.

That didn't make sense, so I tried it "again" and stopped the process and rebooting did make the error go away. I have tried a whole bunch of stuff over the last few days, including stopping the process a few times, but I may not have rebooted right after, because that does have the same effect as unplugging the device.
If you kill the process and don't reboot/shutdown straight away, there's a fair chance that the process is re-starting.
That would explain it, since I was pretty sure I had stopped the process and rebooted. In any event, MJ customer support is useless. Their only advice is in the delete and reinstall area. If enough users have a problem, then they do a system wide fix weeks later. I'm reasonably comfortable that I'm not going to kill my computer by running it so I'm happy. Thank you and the others for the input.

I have the same problem in Windows 7. I also have Vista and it does not have that issue. Any more comments or thoughts on this would be appreciated thanks.
