In regards to my other thread, the whole reason I am trying a converter is because my original 80gb Seagate IDE failed while doing a partition. Giving me just 'A disk error occurred' error when booting, even after plugging it in as a slave and doing a reformat and such.
(I can see it fine as a slave and write things do it I just can't seem to boot from it, and it seems a little damaged after the partition).
Is there any way to fix this drive? To get it working again after the partitioning failed? (I didn't realise partition magic sucks).
Is there any program or anything that completely re-preps the drive and heads or something?
Thanks again. If I can get this IDE working I may be able to scrap having just a converter to try...
EDIT: Drive has mechanical fault now as well. Please lock this.
