Nostromo game pad software shows in task manager...

Hi all,

I use a nostromo n52 speedpad with gaming (and sad to say its hard to go back to gaming without it). I installed the latest drivers (vista x64 are the most up to date ones) and upon installation it works like a champ. After a shutdown/reboot however, upon re-entering windows, I get a popup asking for permission for the program to run/make changes, hit yes and nothing happens.

The task manager shows it is running (nost_LM.exe *32 for some reason and not the 64 bit version...), but it never shows up in my program listings, and I cannot bring up either the loadout manager or the configuration manager windows.

Is there a way to get these things to show up? Belkin corp. is kind of sketchy on driver releases, but I figured I would check here, maybe someone knows a workaround or something.

I am running RC 7100 x64 with Kaspersky Anti Virus

Thanks!

Edit:
Upon uninstalling, I am given a message that a reboot is required because some things could not be removed without one. when the process finishes, I am able to bring up the loadout manager and configuration manager windows like normal.

Found out how to get it to work for now.

Turning off user account control allows the program to work. For some reason even if it is set to low it stops the program from performing even if you hit yes to allow it.

Does anyone know of a way to disable UAC for specific programs only? I would like to keep it on, but still allow my Nostromo software to run without restrictions from it.

This is good news for me. I have a n50 which will not work on 7 so I'm looking at the n52 as opposed to the n52te because of the price. I learned how to game with the speed pad so trying to go to the keyboard is out of the question for me. Windows 7 compatibility site lists only the n52te.:D

The N52 works fine with Win 7. I down loaded the vista 64bit drivers from Belkin and they work just fine. I had to do a reboot to get them to kick in but so far that's been it. From what I've read there doesn't seem to be a way to turn off the UAC for a particular program. It seems to be all or nothing.

Im having great trouble with this in windows 7. I installed the driver for the vista 64 bit, as from what I see, that is the closest support for Win7 there is.

After it installs, I plug in the n52, and the window pops up that it is installing the needed drivers.

It works in its default for playing a game, in that its a basic a s d f w e r set up.

When I open the profile loadout, it just shows the grey circles with x's in them. It's not recognizing my n52 at all, so it won't allow me to load out a created profile, which means I can't do anything to customize the pad for playing......

Never mind. Just picked up the 52te and it installs and works just fine. Guess there isn't a problem out there that can't be solved by tossing money at it.

Any help?

I'm trying to avoid buying another nostromo though. I have 2 n52's, would hate to have top buy a 3rd one as an upgrade. Any ideas?

I went around and around with mine (which was the 52te) before finally giving up and buying a Logitech G13. I still prefer the layout of the 52te, but I spent more time messing with it than I did actually playing games. At least the G13 works. :)
