    USB not recognising drives


    When I connect a USB SATA drive to win7 pro 32bit it cant see it. Power is getting to the devices since the light comes on.

    Changed to another port to no avail.
    It and another drive work on a laptop nearby.

    An Epson printer is USB enabled as well. Changed the port and that's recognised.
    Can you advice please.

    As a test:
    Disconnect the printer.
    Connect the external USB drive to the port used by the printer.

    Does the drive work now?

    No, no change. Can't see the drive.
    Also changed the printer to the ports I tried for the drive and the printer has no trouble in any port.

Hi all. As of a few days ago, computer not recognising plugged in USB hard drives. Have to assign drive letter via Disk Management to access the drive. I don't understand why this should suddenly occur. I am not aware of anything untoward happening that results in this very annoying glitch....

I've just finished building a PC, and the mobo's CD installed some of Intel's USB 3.0 drivers. They seem to be up to date, as I have tried updating them via Gigabyte and Intel's website. However, whilst they provide power, they will not recognise any drives. My Device manager is shown below ...
Until a couple of weeks ago I was quite happily running my Nvidia 9400 GT GPU with no issues. Windows update wanted to update as it does every now an then and afterwards I get a black screen?? I switched to my on-board graphics everything is fine - I try the 9400 and nothing........ it gets...
Ok so here it is, my pc is not able to detect usb flash drives.I searched on google and saw some answer about looking into disk management, but it does not show up here either. I have tried Pendrives, Ipod and PSP.Neither works.The lights in my pen drives light up so its definitely not a problem...

Hi I have just upgraded to Windows 7 from XP... I have 2GB RAM installed on my laptop but for some reason Windows 7 is only recognising 1GB ?
