What the fudge are you guys doing to your eclipses? Mine is (i'm positive) from 2005 and not a single key shows signs of wear. The light got really really dim, though.

that thermaltake looks awesome... looks like the keys are nice and smooth as well.

right now i have a logitech LX710 kb and mouse... i like it except the fact that the home end page up page down etc.. doesnt ahve an insert key.. its not the traditional 6 key layout above the arrow keys

looks like i need a new one soon. :) guess which type of games i play?
If I'm not mistaken those are the most used keys when gaming.@ LiquidSnak

I guess some people are just a bit more heavy fingered. I've never even had a keyboard that I've worn the lettering off of as of yet. (Was just working on the o's and f's) Fabe

This is the keyboard that I use and I love it...I'm not a gamer but I wanted a good quality backlight keyboard and so far this keyboard rocks. I also have a Saitek keybaord with blue LED but I don't like the keys for typing.

Thanks! That is the brightest looking one I have seen yet, will definitely check it out later to see if it is really as bright as pictured and if it has usb ports like the thermaltake.

The dim one I have is an eclipse but worn keys aren't brighter like that other guys they get even dimmer and stained.

It's not a "gaming keyboard" per say, but I just replaced my eclipse (because the light is so dim now I can't see the keys even in daylight) with a "cheap" intermediary keyboard, the iHome multimedia keyboard. $15 bucks, and I have to say, it's comfortable, quiet, light to respond, and works fine when playing games. My only problem with it so far is the volume up key got wedged in the down position, and my music got horrendously loud until i jabbed it a few times lol.

few weeks ago i upgraded my el-cheapo Genius Slim to Logitech Illuminated. was deciding between G110 and this one. didn't like G110 keys...

i like it very much. keys have three brightness modes and are just like on laptop: slim, soft and silent. and i can control foobar2000 playback from it xD
gaming and working is a pleasure.

    only thing is:
    1) Insert missing from above cursor keys (it's now in place of PrintScreen)
    2) and left Shift is 2x shorter (so i miss it quite a few times end press \)

so i'm still adjusting to it

I have the Cyborg v5, and like it really well.
    Cyborg V.5 Keyboard - GameShark® Store

The v5 has a red backlight which can be set to Off, Low or High.
Its plenty bright enough for me.

Theres another version of it as well:
    Cyborg Keyboard - GameShark® Store

I beleieve the higher End version allows you to change what color the lighting is as well.
