    SanDisk Cruzer Flash Drive-AUTOPLAY problem

    Hi,

    I have this flash drive
USB Flash Memory - Smart Design Flash USB Drive by SanDisk
U3 is built within it. As i put it in win7 i dont have the AUTOPLAY menu , but I can through the browser locate the two components of the drive under My Computer:

    1-CD DRIVE SYSTEM U3

    2-REMOVABLE DISK

I think I read somewhere win 7 Such is restricted to built-DOK with U3 security because ...?

-I've No problem at all with AUTOPLAY in win 7 with all others DOK or disk insertion.

-I've No problem with the "problematic" DOK on VISTA / XP -AUTOPLAY menus opened immediately.

    The problem is known?

How can we overcome it in WIN7?

    I'm a little confused.

Not your fault, just my slow grasping of problems.

Could you do me a favor and

post a snip of the output of:
    WIN E key combo
WIN is the key with the wavy flag.

    Make a snapshot:
WIN | type SNIPPING | ENTER
    Click the New button.
Drag the cursor around the area you want to snip.
File | Save as | select save location and name | Save button

    Post the snapshot:

My Sandisk Cruzer shows the same two exact options.
To use the U3 software click the CD drive (E).
To directly access files click the Removable Disk (F).

There is nothing wrong Windows is reading it as two seperate drives, one thru the U3 software and second by direct access.
If you look the MB size is different so Windows sees 2 drives plugged in.
Just an oddity not a problem.

I thought it very strange the first time I plugged mine in until I realized what it was doing.

Click the Run U3 Launchpad in your picture.

Let it load. A U3 icon will be in the system tray. See picture below.
Right click the U3 icon then left click "Autorun U3 Launchpad on Drive Insertion".

Right click the icon again and there should be a check mark beside Autorun.
    Leave it checked.
    Click Open U3 Launchpad.
    Click Eject.
Pull the drive, replug and hopefully it will ask you what you want to do.

That should do the trick I hope..

    Howdy Karl.
Wasn't trying to butt in just new I had one that did the same.

Both autoplay options opened for me.
I'm not sure why yours isn't.

Open Computer as you did above to show drives.
Right click the CD drive showing the U3. Left click Open Auto Play.
New window left click "View more Autoplay options...."
    See picture below.
In the new window "Use Auto play" at top should be checked as outlined in yellow in the picture.

You can also set each setting on this last page to Always ask by clicking curtain and choosing that option or which ever you prefer.
