Unknown device issue with USB printer

Windows 7 will not recognize my Canon PIXMA MP600 printer when connecting via USB port. It keeps telling me "Unknown device". My USB keyboard and mouse works just fine.

When connecting the printer to my laptop running XP, everything works just fine.

I have installed the latest MP driver from Canon. Tried with the older driver on the CD also. Tried every USB port, and I'm positive they're all working. Did the trick to unplug the power cable also. No luck at all. Removed the unknown device a numerous of times, and tried installing the driver "manually". Windows 7 then tells me the best suited driver is already installed.

I have run out of ideas, so any help much appreciated.
