    Weird problem when booting up.[BIOS not see HDD anymore]


    Hi guys, few hours ago I was playing Battlefield 3 multiplayer match, I won, but then my computer frozen. "big deal, it happens" so i restartes computer and BUM "please select bootable device, blah,blah, blah".
    I went to the bios and it seems that it does not see my HDD any more, which is weird, because it was working few minutes ago.
    My HDD is only FEW DAYS OLD, 1T seagate. When I am turning on computer, the HDD is working, i can hear the spinning sound, and no other strange voices..
    So what do you think about it ? Any solutions?

    Hi and welcome to seven forums. The obvious thing to do first is open the case and make sure both the power cable and SATA cable are properly connected to the HDD and the motherboard and also try another SATA cable just in case

    I did that already, there is nothibg wrong with the cables, i use also the old cables from my old pc, it still dont working.

    Even if you can hear it spinning; just because that is happening doesnt always mean much even if it should. Go into the bios and see if the bios detects it. If the bios doesnt detect that the hard drive is connected; like Shim said; make sure the cables are all "seated" and pushed in all the way. If after doing that the bios still wont detect it; then Im willing to bet its probably your cables that are bad; especially if you used them in a previous system. The reason i say its probably the cables is because over time cables can slowly deteriorate due to dust, dirt, heat, and other enviromental factors. I would try replacing your hard drive cables and see what happens. If the issue is solved after that then thats what the problem was. If not post back and we can go from there.

    Would certainly be worthwhile trying a different cable which also helps to eliminate the simple things first and reduce the possibilities of why it isn't being detected

    Problem solved, hdd working pn another computer, probably motherboard is bad. :/

Hi suddenly my desktop start to show this message http://i45.tinypic.com/35a5hc8.jpg so i format and installed windows 7 64bit OS once the computer restart after files are extracted this message started to show again, so i ran a "Windows memory diagnostic" by booting up from windows...
