USB Thumb/Pen Drives Stopped Working
I tried searching the forums and Google, but I can't seem to find an answer just yet.
Problem: After installing Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit on a computer with 4gb ram and an nvidia chipset, I needed to transfer some files to it. I have an 8gb and a 16gb Kingston Datatraveler drive. I also have a 1tb external hard drive. All usb 2.0. After inserting them into the computer, they all stopped working. I don't know what I did to my 1tb external drive though, but after plugging it into different computers, it finally started working again.
The usb drives don't. They don't work on the computer they were put in when they stopped working. They don't work on a win 7 ultimate 32 bit installation on my macbook, they don't work in my macbook running osx 10.6.4 32 bit, they don't run on my windows vista home premium 32bit.
I open the computer management > disk management and they do not even appear there. I have tried uninstalling the usb hubs from the device manager and that didn't work.
Are the drives fried? Or has anyone else posted about this kind of issue?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
