This is my first time posting in these forum, hopefully they are not like the World of Warcraft Forums haha.
I just purchased an Alienware Aurora system and everything has been going fine up until approximately two weeks ago. At that time I started observing numerous horizontal lines on my LG Flatron W2452T at the top and bottom third of the monitor. The lines occur anytime the monitor is on; gaming, web surfing etc. I then did the usual and updated the
drivers which did not solve the problem. I then tried a different monitor and observed no lines whatsoever, leaving the Lg monitor to be the problem. Is there a way to fix this issue before buying a new monitor? I am trying to explore options before dropping roughly 300.00-400.00. The monitor is a LCD, I have speakers on my desk in the same position as they have always been with the same monitor and my old system. I am assuming that it is the some sort of connection inside that is the problem but am unsure due to lack of experience with displays. Thank you for the time given to this request.
I should also add that the lines are thin and stretch across the entire screen never in the middle only on the top or bottom third of the display, sometimes together and sometimes seperately. The affected areas will also turn white sometimes for a few moments and then revert back to just lines. When switching applications i.e. from WoW to Firefox using Ctrl + Esc the prior applications images will freeze in the affected area for a few moments. The mouse curser if placed in the affected area while experiencing a large amount of lines or whiteness will slow down and become choppy (or appear to be anyways).
