Sorry to hear that. It makes a difference for me in W7. I ran W10 briefly but don't remember how it behaved.

Early on in the Windows 10 rollout the system still had some issues. I've loaded it over 8.1 and backed it off several times. I currently have Windows 10 Pro installed again. Seems to be pretty stable. The portable device entries and SATA drives showing up as removable is an issue that's been around since Windows 7 possibly earlier. It's doesn't really harm anything as far as I know. But, it would be nice to know at least WHY Microsoft designed that behavior in to Windows in the first place and offer a workaround to those who desire it.

i see my local drives as removable ..
hi ichange bios as ahci cause i have 2 dock station and every time i have to restart to see the dock stations hard drives,ok i change my bios settings to ahci (somewhere i read if i do that,i can see then the dock stations drives as hot swap) anyway i dont fix the problem cause i have to restart...

Internal Secondary HDD treated as Removable Hardware
My secondary HDDs are treated as Removable Hardware and goes into Sleep mode when not used for a while. Does anyone knows how to make Win7 treat the HDDs as permanent and keep them running?

I have 2 drives showing in my computer which are not my drives, i have q: local disk (shows as 0 bytes used and 0 bytes free) and H: Removable disk (shows as 0 bytes used and 0 bytes free) How do i remove these, or find out what is using them ty :cry:
