Mismatched HDD capacities

Hello all,
New member here. Interesting question: in Win7, when I look at my computer; i.e. navigate to the C: drive from the start menu, it shows 55gb free of 132gb.
However, in disk management, when I look at my partition, it shows a total size of 232 gb. I have a 250gb HDD and understand that 232 is the actual usable size, but where's the other 100gb?

hi jhooker,

i haven't a clue as to your drive space mismatch, but if you want to insert screenshots, you can do it using the paper-clip icon for attachements.

siomply click on the paper-clip, browse to your saved screenshot and press the upload button.

the attachment will get attached to your post.

ok, i see you've edited your original post and added attachments.

it's better to save them as jpg's or png's rather than pdf's, then they show up onscreen without having to load another program.

here, i've done it for you, using the snipping tool. (hint type snip into your start-menu searchbox).
