    Hard drive question

Hey, I had an internet Western Digital hard drive which basically died

I sent it back for a replacement under the warranty, it's unformatted and has some stuff on it (not too personal)

I wasn't able to format it myself, but was wondering if they would wipe it etc?

If the drive was already dead, then they will probably through it in the scap heap or refurbish it still no prob with your old data, nobody will ever see it

Not sure on the condition, but basically messages had been popping up on windows saying that a problem was detected with my hard drive

The hard drive also failed S.M.A.R.T scans etc

Then, when it completely failed, I tried reinstallaing windows, but the hard drive didn't appear in the boot menu / list of hard drives
