    Pci Sata Control Card

Have an issue with my Syba SD-VIA-1A2S sata controller card that occassionally cause bsod. Updating the driver reduced the frequency but did not eliminate the issue. I would like to replace the card but after extensive research, I have not found a pci sata controller card that I feel confident that would function with windows 7. Can find plenty of pci-x or express that are for windows 7 but pci appears to be fairly rare.

    Sata Controller

I am using the Asu U3S6 controller that you see in the link above. No problems, but it is a PCIEX4 card. Maybe you can't use it.

Siig seems to have a good selection for Windows 7. Know anything about this one? I have 1 raptor and an Hp dvd requiring sata and I will probably change out the other 2 hard drives to sata later.

A quick search of the net,
Sounds like it's shipped with out of date bios and doesn't play nice
    with drives over 500gb.

Yes, Siig has the Win7 driver for download and the 500gb is not an issue for me. Still looking at others though.

Think about the future you may want to use a 1tb drive and you then have to get a new card.
Get one that handles larger drives NOW and save yourself the hassles and the money

Ok! 48 hrs with the new Siig card and no issues. Apparently the Syba card was causing lots of problems. Very few event errors appearing now. Appreciate the input from all of you.
