Lost keyboard after update

Hi

Hoping someone can assit I have Windows 7 home preium installed and after the latest update I have lost my keyboard. I have tried a usb wired and wireless keyborad and both have the same issue. The delete and backspace keys function (so I can get into bios) but I have tried reinstalling windows 7 64 bit and same issue. The Windows help desk now say its the mobo. But as it was working fine before and its a brand new Asus Rampage 3 Extreme I don't think this is the issue. The bios is AM 2.06 (from memory) and it seems strange that an update occurred and the keyboard stops working but not completely ie some keys work just not the numbers or letters. Before I dismantle and get a replacement mobo anyone have a similar experiance or can assist with a cure?
System details intel i950, 6 gb Corsair 1600 ram, Saphire 5800 graphics, 1500 w power, Coolermaster V8 cpu cooler and and the Asus mobo.

I've only seen something like once before on a server that got a keyboard error after an update.. I had to clear CMOS and reflash the BIOS to get it working again.. and I never did get a straight answer from microsoft as to why an update would cause a keyboard error.

I really don't want to have to reflash the bios (although the board has dual bios capability) its a new board and the bios is the latest version working fine until Microsoft!! As its my home pc and downloading bios to USB stick would be OK but as the keyboads are USB not sure if something there could stuff up the reflah. PS I don't have a floppy disc drive)

Try clearing CMOS as madtownidiot suggested.

If your keyboard has stopped working because of an update, it's because something in the BIOS has changed.. that is why I'm suggesting at least clearing the CMOS

Thanks madtownidiot I will try the cmos as you suggest. fingers crossed. I spent 2 hours on the 'lack of' support from Microsoft and the only suggestion they had was to replace the mobo!

Tried the CMOS with no result, still no keyboard. Asus have asked me to try and change the date in bios to test so will try that and see if software or mobo issue.
