| Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit 12 posts | Reformatting my External Hard Drive I'm trying to reformat my dad's old 500 GB hard drive. The hard drive is a seagateSD. When i try to open it its really slow and takes like 5 minutes to open a file, so i decided to reformat it and lose the data. I tried to reformat it repeatedy using these settings(Picture Attached) but the bar won't move and eventually gives me this error(2nd Attached Photo) after the first time i went to my computer to retry but instead of the hard drive symbol it showed a NTFS and a white block with little colored things inside. Thanks in advance for any help! |

| Black Label 7 x64 392 posts | Big fan of killdisk. If that doesn't work then your drive indeed might be on its last legs. |
