    Processors i7


    Hello all

    I need help on this one i only have (4) processors.

    What do i do with (8) this is not right.

    Not to worry. With hyper-threading enabled, one would expect to see 8 on a quad processor.

    When looking at a CPU, there are two key terms as far as number of cores. There is the number of physical processors, which on the i7 is 4 and there is the number of logical processors (or threads) and the i7 has 8 of those. For every physical processor on a hyper-threaded CPU, you will see two logical processors. So if you had a 980X 6-core, you'd see 12 logical processors, and thus anything that looks at logical processors such as Device Manager or Task Manager will see it as having that many.
