I did a search of the forum, and did not find an answer to my problem. The problem I am having is one of permissions on all my external hard drives. I have full permissions for them on my main Windows 7 machine, but any other machine I plug them into, I get only read only permissions. The OS's of my other machines are Ubuntu 10.10, XBMC Live 9.11 (a derivative of Ubuntu 9.11 for set-top HTPC), Mac OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard, and another Windows 7 Home Premium x64 machine. All the drives are formatted in NTFS.
I have tried changing the permissions using the management console in the storage tab, but to no avail. I have also tried reformatting them both in Windows 7 and in Linux using gParted to no avail. I really need to be able to move cross-platform and handle large files.
Is there anyway to fix this problem? If it has been answered before, please direct me to the post. I do appreciate any help the community can give me to solve this problem.
