    I cannot gain access to my TOSHIBA portable 500Gb external drive


    Good morning,

    I recently found my Toshiba portable external mass storage device and plugged into my USB port. The Device shows in my control panel as a connected device but I can not gain access. What might prompt this problem?

    For the record, I am a beginner when it comes to computers so I'm just looking for some insight to this issue.

    Hello and welcome Iman mate can you post a pic of the Device Manager please
    Start > right click Computer > click Manage . click Disk Management and send a pic of that window.

    If you are not sure of sending pics see this How to Use the Snipping Tool in Vista

    The window will look like the one I am posting.
