Help with Installing two hard drives

    Is there more than one power cable from the PSU to try ? Can you hear if the IDE spins from power ON ?

    both have little raised notches. I have switch both out a couple of times.

    When i turn it on, i can feel the spinning....and i have tried several of the power outlets

    ok, let's try connecting to the Black IDE connector on MB with the HD jumper OFF so it sees it as a slave drive. Maybe the blue IDE connector has gone bad

    ok something just changed here. I changed IDE configuration to Parallel ATA. the Primary IDE Master is showing the original HD now. Small change.

    I think that I have just about tried everything I have done in the past with HD's.

    One of my favorite HD testing gadgets is a USB Tri-Head Adapter

    It can test IDE full size HD's & Laptop Hd's & SATA HD's
