I know nothing about that specific motherboard, nor do I know the Xeon models very well, but I can tell the chipset is X48 based on the name. That appears to be the Xeon equivalent of the Core 2 Quad. Have you tried reading through overclocking tutorials for the Core 2? Memory overclocking should be mentioned in there. I would not imagine that Xeons are much different.

Welcome to Seven Forums mechbob. This may be helpful. See the specific note:

If you are using DDR3 1600 MHz DIMMs, it is recommended that you only populate two of the four DIMM slots, specifically one slot in each channel. It is recommended that you populate slot 1 of each channel (black connectors).

    1600Mhz

I have built serveral of these Just Not with 1600Mhz Ram , What I was looking for was someone who has done this and What Ram did they use , as you well know there are a million options out there. Intel says only 2GB SS , I want to try 4GB DS , IE 2X 2GB. GSkil has come out with this new low volt RAM (1.35 ) AT DDR3-1600. That is what I was thing of so not to tax the North Bridge too much.

I'd take the GSkill anyday. If your lucky the SMP profile setting will work and get the settings right for you automatically. If not just set it up manually to their specs.
