    Random cursor moves and clicks

    Hi,

For about one week now, my laptop randomly moves the cursor on the screen and double clicks. So, applications run, windows open... A real mess.

This is not related to the mouse itself, it does the same with the mouse disconnected, with only the touchpad running. The strange point is that when an USB mouse is connected, I disable the touchpad.

The only changes I made in the days before it started is installing a windows 7 update and installing an evaluation version of Visual Studio 2010.

It seems that random mouse clicks is easy to find on Google... Anyone with similar concerns (and any solution...) ?

    Make an antivirus full scan
Download and scan with malwarebytes, full scan. Be sure to update first.

Thanks for the advice. Did it. Did not detect anything bad... Still behaving strangely.

    Go to search
    type event viewer
Look for critical errors relating to your problem

    Go to search
    type device manager
look for any yellow warning markers
Make sure mouse driver is up to date

This will most likely be my last post for the night.

Hi. Problem fixed. Related to a program called audio32.exe that runs in background, producing nothing else visible than random cursor moves and double clicks causing some disgreable and potentially dangerous effects. Program stopped, everything OK. Program launched again, issues back. No virus nor spyware detector detected anything wrong. Finally shredded the exe, things are now fine again. Sent exe with description to Avast in case.

Do you still have a backup of that file so that you may upload the file to virustotal or jotti to confirm if it's malicious or not..

Uploaded on virustotal before my own tests. One out of the 41 analyzers quoted it as "suspucious". File sent to Avast... They should analyze it. I Googled the program name (audio32.exe). One exists, but it has been reported with a much larger size so far. It might be an evolution, but it is not detected by antiviruses yet.

Very likely it's a clean file. What location it was at by the way?

It was located in C:\SystemFiles which seemed stange and made me think of it a potentially dangerous. I did not analyze the file but I can say that stoping the task that was running fixed the random moves and clicks issue and that running the program again brought the issue back. As this exe did not visibly produce anything else, I decided to shred it and now the issue is gone. May be audio32.exe is clean, but it drove my PC crazy and I don't need it, so...
