    Decision made

    Okie dokie

After a few more stops around the interwebz and another phone call to Kingston I decided to go with the amazonian version.

KHX1600C9D3K2/4GETR and KHX1600C9D3/2G are the exacft same part.

The K2 is merely saying that it's sold as a 2 piece kit, the 4G states that the kit contains a total of 4GB RAM, and the ETR merely explains that it is only available through online agencies.

Thanks for all who helped explain that Dual Channel is MoBo related and has nothing to do with RAM until you go to place it into the actual MoBo. Since I will be filling all 4 slots with the exact same RAM; Windows7, my MoBo, and my CPU should all be happy.

one last little thing to check is the QVL for your mobo... its not required for your memory to be on the QVL, but it helps...

just to let you know, my ram isint on my mobo QVL and so far i have no hiccups.. running smooth (after getting good ram)

Well I installed the RAM, booted my system up and it runs like a dream. I did notice a few interesting things however.
CPU-Z notes that the voltage running to my RAM is 1.5v while the reccomended voltage is listed as 1.7v-1.9v.
The timing is also listed as 7-7-7-24 while the timing from kingston states that it should be set to 7-7-7-27.
I went into my BIOS (which I flashed to 1.4 today YAY for MSI's online updating software) and adjusted the DRAM voltage parameter to 1.73 but when I launched CPU-Z again it was still listed as 1.5v. I decided that if everything was running great at 1.5v, there was probably no reason to adjust it so I went back in and switched it back to default. *shrug*
