Probems with USB2.0 Devices

I'm running Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit on an ASUS P5N-D MB with an Intel Quad Core
CPU, 4 Gig of ram, 2 1.5T WD HD's (RAID Mirror). I'm having some trouble with some
USB2.0 devices. I'm remote controlling my Ham Radio Station with this computer. To accomplish this I need allot of serial ports. I'm using 4 USB 2.0 to Serial Adapters (FTDI) and they are set up as follows:
COM2
COM3
COM4
COM6 (installed but disabled)
COM7
These devices installed without any difficulties. The problem is that they might work for a week, then one of them will fail to INIT (device cannot start). This problem has never happened on COM2, 3, 4, It always happens on COM7. I've tried moving the adapter on COM7 to COM8, 9, and 10, but the same thing happens. Also sometimes my USB Soundcard (SIIG USB Soundwave 7.1 Pro) will fail to INIT. I went as far as to replace both of these devices, but that didn't resolve the problem.
Occasionally these USB devices will cause a "blue screen of death".
The reason I'm using USB devices is because this computer is rack mounted in my garage (80 feet away from the actual radio equipment). I'm running several USB extender cables back to back to get the USB connection into the radio room. KVM comes in over a KVM extender.
If I can't get this working the only other alternative I have is to transfer the computer into a regular case and move it into the radio room. If I do that I can use a standard 8 port ByteRunner Serial Card. I've verified that all my drivers are up to date. The Advanced Settings for these devices are set to the default settings.
Any suggestions you might have would be greatly appreciated.
