    Multisession DVD Burning

Hope someone can help. Until recently I was able to burn my photo files in batches/multiple sessions using Windows Explorer. I would simply insert the DVD, drag and drop the new files from my hard drive, and burn them. However, within the last month or so, if I do this the old files on the DVD "disappear" and only the new files show up. Even if I use a different software (i.e. Power2Go), I have trouble with the previous files simply not showing up.

Has anyone else noticed this problem? Anyone have an idea on how to fix it? I'd appreciate any ideas.

    Are those re-writable DVDs ?
I mean is there any chance that you accidentally set it to always delete before writing or something like that?

No, they are not RWs, unless they are mislabeled. I'm not aware that there is an option to delete. Looking at the physical written side, it looks as if the DVD is nearly full, but only the most recent files are shown, which is not nearly enough to fill a DVD.

A little google brought me to the conclusion that this is a quite common problem with multi session DVDs. (kind of like it's "by design" that way)
As long as the disc isn't finalized (closed) those first sessions don't show.
I can't say that from my own experience because I haven't burned any multi session Disk in decades.
It has been said that IsoBuster would be able to access/retrieve former sessions.
If you could retieve your pics and then finalize that disc you're on the safe side

Strange, as the problem only cropped up recently. Until then, I was able to add to a DVD without any issue. I thought maybe it was a Windows update that caused the problem, and was hoping someone could tell me which update to uninstall. I'll wait a few days before trying IsoBuster, as I can't afford the software. Otherwise I'll just wait until I have enough files to fill a DVD and burn it once.

    Thanks for your help!
