[Solved] Sidewinder X6 problem (volume doesn't work)

Well, I bought the SideWinder x6.
I installed IntelliType and plugged in the keyboard. Everything worked except the volume control (+, -).
However, I did on another computer, Windows XP, and worked correctly.
Then I upgrade Windows 7. Currently, I am with the build 7201.
When I finished installing, I realized that the control volume is working properly.
Unfortunately, it was just 3 days. Now stopped working again.
Already uninstalled and installed drivers several times, including older versions.
I know that the IntelliType is still in beta, but it worked before. Can someone help me?

Ps: Sorry for bad english.

Windows 7 Build 7100

hmmm... I have exactly the same keyboard and haven't had any problems... (I'm running 7100)

Did you get the 64bit drivers if you have a 64bit OS?? that will cause problems. That's probably the only thing I can think of sorry i couldn't help more.

Yes, is the Windows x64, but with the x64 drivers.
I have to wait the final version, by the way.
But thank you so much for your answer.

Same Here

Windows 7 build 7100 X64
Sidewinder X6 keyboard.

Worked fine for about 3/4s of a day after new win7 install and beta x64 microsoft direct drivers. Volume knob has completely stopped working. Works fine on a different computer ( non-win7 ).

It really did work for a while. I've completely uninstalled, cleared the registry of the beta drivers, did a fresh install, no go.

Windows 7

I found out the error.
The service 'Human Interface Device Access' needs to be started.
Changes to manual start automatically, I am not sure why.

To fix this:
Start -> Run... (or Windows + R)
type 'services.msc'
find the 'Human Interface Device Access'.
double click on it.
change the start mode to Automatic.

you did it!

Your "human interface device access" needing to be turned on worked! The volume knob now works! Awesome find, thank you very much.

Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

I registered just to post a) a big Thank You and b) the hint that this also works with the Microsoft Sidewinder X4 Keyboard. "Human Interface Device Access" was set to manually.
Additionally, I'll add the keywords "Volume up", "Volume down" and "Mute button" here, so search engines find this thread for the specific keys as well. At least I searched for these buttons and not the keyword "Volume Control" for some hours...

Windows 7 64bit

Hi, sorry to revive an old thread just wanted to say thank you to the suggestions I found in this thread. Bought an X6 a couple days ago when just today I noticed my volume control stopped working. Starting the HID service fixed my issue. Thanks again!
