I tried the site you mentioned first. The only driver HP has available for my laptop is for Windows XP. Apparently HP only singled out a few old laptops out there to support Windows 7. I had the same issue with the sound driver and someone much smarter than me on this forum cleverly figured out a work-around for my sound issue and I got that working great. I am running Windows 7 Professional x64. I am looking for a work around for the mass storage controller in device manager. Thanks for your assistance.

Thanks for the suggestion. I downloaded the driver and installed it as you said with the compatiblilty in XP, etc.. It installed OK with no problems, but it didn't clear the error in device manager. Thanks for your help though. I appreciate it.

I tried reinstalling the driver from device manager and also ran the intel chipset utility. Still no joy.
I appreciate your help. Any other suggestions are welcome.
