I notice that My ssd is set to PIO mode 4 and DMA disabled. Is that normal?

By default, mine shows DMA enabled, Ultra DMA mode 4.

There looks to be something wrong in the IO responce time of your SSD resulting in a penalty factor, and the disk sequential writes look low also. Those scores are way off which is why your average is only 5.9.

It may have to do with DMA but I'm not sure, I havn't tested it with DMA off. I don't have an AHCI setting with my mobo so can't use it. Maybe try a different SATA cable or something.

So would I need to enable the built in admin account to be able to set that dma?

Ive managed to resolve this pio mode by swapping the sata cable to another port. Its now using Ultra DMA 6.

Here is the latest hdtune test (note the yellow dots which were missing on my previous test):

With your older controller etc, the performance difference is marginal. I'd say your drive is working well.

OH good, that must have been the problem. Are you using port 0 for this or did you move the sata cable to another port number?

I'm sure if you re-ran the winsat disk -drive C: test you would see that the average score is improved where it was low before.
